According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Joseph Ionata plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
A member of Alabama‘s 2024 recruiting class, Ionata has spent the past two seasons in Tuscaloosa.

During his time at Alabama, Ionata was primarily a backup center with the Crimson Tide, while also seeing action on special teams. Across his two seasons from 2024-25, Ionata appeared in a combined 15 games, and served as the Crimson Tide’s backup center this past season.
Prior to Alabama, Ionata was considered as a three-star prospect in the 2024 class, ranked as the nation’s No. 570 overall recruit, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Ionata also ranked as the nation’s No. 40 overall interior offensive lineman out of Calvary Christian High School in Florida.
