The Chicago Bears will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday, where Chicago is looking to close out the regular season on a high note with a win while also clinching the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs.
The Bears are coming off a rough 42-38 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in a thrilling shootout in prime time. Quarterback Caleb Williams had arguably his best showing, throwing for 330 yards and two touchdowns, while rookies Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland had big games. But it was the defense that was the biggest concern. Chicago allowed nearly 500 yards and three touchdowns to Brock Purdy and company. The defense had no answers for the 49ers, be in through the air or on the ground.
Heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Lions, the weather could be a factor for the away team. The Bears have played in frigid and windy conditions multiple times this year, and this won’t be that bad. Meanwhile, Lions quarterback Jared Goff isn’t known for being productive in the cold.

Chicago weather for Bears vs. Lions game
The National Weather Service in Chicago forecast calls for cool and cloudy conditions during Sunday’s late afternoon game. The high temperature should reach around 30 degrees, which will be the temperature at kickoff through game’s end. Winds will be around 9-12 miles per hour, coming out of the south, with gusts reaching 10-15 miles per hour. Wind chills are expected to reach between 20-23 degrees. It’s not an overtly freezing day on the lakefront, but it’s chilly for a dome-based team nonetheless.
How Bears vs. Lions weather will impact odds, betting
The Bears are 3-point home favorites against the Lions, who are coming off a rough 23-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Meanwhile, Chicago fell just short in a 42-38 shootout loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but the Bears had already clinched the NFC North. The over/under is set at 50.5. The weather shouldn’t have any impact on Chicago, outside of some wind gusts and cool not freezing temperatures, but it’s definitely a benefit for the Bears as they face a Lions squad that plays in a dome.
