The Philadelphia Eagles landing Maxx Crosby would be a franchise-altering move, and while it might be unlikely, if the Las Vegas Raiders move on from him, it seems like something the Eagles would at least have to kick the tires on.

According to a trade proposal from Anthony Miller of FanSided, there’s at least a framework where it could make sense for both sides.

In Miller’s proposal, the Raiders would receive a 2026 first-round pick, a 2026 third-round pick, and EDGE Nolan Smith Jr.

“If the Raiders want a quick solution for Crosby, the Eagles might be willing to move on from Smith as despite missing five games this season, he has still put up good number with 28 tackles, 13 quarterback pressures, 10 quarterback hits, three sacks, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble. Las Vegas would be getting a quick, young defender who can be a day-one start, as he has only developed for three years,” he wrote.

From the Eagles’ perspective, this is the type of aggressive move that aligns perfectly with how Howie Roseman operates.

Crosby isn’t just another edge rusher, as he’s one of the most disruptive defensive players in football, perhaps the best when he’s playing as well as he can.

Pairing him with Philadelphia’s defense and Vic Fangio would instantly make the Eagles the best pass-rushing unit in the league.

The price is high, but it’s not really that bad, and that’s the reality when we’re talking about a player like Crosby.

Smith has played well, and Miller is right to point out that his production hasn’t gone unnoticed despite injuries.

Still, Crosby, on the other hand, is a proven star in his prime.

The risk for Philadelphia is there, too. Crosby is on a big contract, and moving future picks always comes with worries. However, the Eagles aren’t in a situation to be safe.

Maybe they want to use assets to get offensive help, but this is Maxx Crosby we’re talking about. If the Eagles have a real chance to land him, there’s already a guarantee that Roseman will at least make a call.
