Mark your calendars. A date and time has been set for the San Francisco 49ers wild card showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The NFL on Sunday night announced the 49ers will visit the Eagles at Lincoln Financial field on Sunday for a 1:30pm Pacific Time kickoff.
Here’s the rest of the NFL playoff schedule:
Saturday
Sunday
Monday
This will be the 49ers’ first matchup against the Eagles since San Francisco ran over Philadelphia 42-19 in Week 13 of the 2023 season. It’s the first playoff matchup between the two clubs since the 2022 NFC championship game when Philadelphia steamrolled the 49ers 31-7 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Typically the 49ers would be at an advantage because they got an extra day of rest after playing their Week 18 finale vs. the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. However, the Eagles chose to rest most of their starters in their season finale vs. the Washington Commanders which removes some of the edge San Francisco might’ve gained from the additional day off.
If the 49ers win they’ll move on to face either the Seattle Seahawks or the Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Rams or Seattle Seahawks on the road in the second round.
