The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into the offseason this year a lot earlier than many expected. Despite pulling out a 16-14 victory in their regular-season finale over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, the Bucs could only sit and watch as any playoff hopes went down the drain less than 24 hours later. The Falcons beat the Saints on Sunday, crowning the Panthers as the winners of the NFC South. For Tampa, this marks the first time since 2019 that the Buccaneers will miss out on the playoffs and becomes an exclamation point of sorts on a frustrating season that did not live up to expectations. The Bucs started off the year on a high, going 6-2 and sitting atop the NFC, but took a nosedive to cap off the regular season, winning just two of their last nine games. An offense that ranked fifth in the league to start the year had fallen to 19th, and a defense coached by a defensive guru such as Todd Bowles ranked 13th worst in the NFL. As the Bucs began to fall flat after the Bye Week, many fans have turned to social media to question whether or not they believe Bowles should lead the team in 2026. On Monday at locker room cleanout, Bowles addressed those fans, saying his focus is solely on turning this team around. “All I can do is coach and be myself,” Bowles said. “I’ve earned that chance. I’ve won three straight division titles. But I don’t really have a message for fans. We’re going to try and do our best to go out and win for them. They’re going to feel how they’re going to feel, but that’s not a coach’s problem. A coach’s problem is to make the team better.”As of Monday, the Glazer family had not announced any intention when it comes to Bowles’ future or any other coaching changes. But it’s clear that some change will likely be coming to 1 Buc Place this offseason.
