MILWAUKEE — The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers are set to clash in a rare playoff matchup Saturday night.
What You Need To Know
The Packers are set to take on the Bears in the playoffs for the first time since 2011
Ticket prices have skyrocketed to over $1,500 for the best seats
A full overnight trip could cost a Green Bay fan close to $2,000
One of most storied rivalries returning to the playoffs is making for one of the hottest, and high-priced, tickets in sports, according to John Lamoreaux the president of ticket outlet Ticket King.
“The Packers have played the Bears in the playoffs three times,” said Lamoreaux. “Most recently, I believe, in 2010 in the NFC Championship. So, this is a rare occurrence.”

Lamoreaux said ticket prices are reaching above $1,500. He said that’s a price often seen for championship game matchups.
“You got to remember, the Bears haven’t … had a home playoff game in ages,” Lamoreaux said. “So, you’ve got this entire Chicago market that’s excited for their team. You’ve got Packer Nation coming down and wanting to attend the game. It’s Packers-Bears. It’s the biggest rivalry in football. And you know being a playoff game in Chicago. That’s why you’re seeing prices starting out at $500,” he said.
The date and time of the matchup has also affected prices.
“Saturday night game. You know, it’s great for TV. You know, it’s maybe not great for somebody who’s traveling down from Green Bay,” said Lamoreaux. “Unless they want to spend the night in Chicago or find transportation.”
Plenty of transportation services are gearing up for the game.
William North with Reds X-Press said he’s looking to take around 14 people to Soldier Field.
“For the whole bus, we’re starting off at $1,200 for a starting price,” said North.
And with hotels near Soldier Field costing anywhere from $90 to $200, a weekend trip for the game could push $2,000.
Some fans are hoping to wait out ticket prices for a good deal. Lamoreaux’s advice is to save yourself the stress.
“What I always tell people is, if you find a price and a ticket you like, buy it and don’t look back,” he said.
