Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop and his fiancee Julia Otto have been hit with a barrage of abuse in the wake of his costly miss against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On Sunday, the Ravens failed to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2021 following a 26-24 loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh, where Loop missed a potential game-winning field goal at the death.

From 44 yards out, Loop made a complete mess of the kick and pushed it way right to spark wild scenes among Steelers fans as they clinched the AFC North title.

In the days that have followed, Loop and his fiancee have been inundated with vile messages from frustrated Ravens fans on social media.

In the comment section on a pinned post on his Instagram page, which announced Loop and Otto’s engagement, angry fans left nasty messages for the kicker.

One disgruntled fan wrote: ‘You absolute choke artist missing that gimme field goal and costing us the division? Pack your bags, you’re a fraud and don’t deserve to be on the same team as Lamar and Derrick Henry’.

Another said: ‘You [sic] career will forever be defined by this moment. Always remember that [thumbs up]’.

‘Lamar gave you field position and you end the game like that? Literally kicked the post season straight in the trash.. you suck,’ another angry fan wrote.

Another added: ‘PACK YOUR F***ING BAGS WE GETTING TUCKER BACK BUD’.

Meanwhile, one fan said: ‘YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!!!’

Other vile comments referenced Loop and Otto’s engagement and encouraged the kicker’s fiancee to break off the marriage after his missed kick.

Some fans, however, jumped to the Ravens kicker’s defense and hit back at the negative remarks which had filled his Instagram comment section.

Loop has since limited comments on the post. Meanwhile, Otto’s account is private.

The couple have been together since Loop’s days in Arizona and announced their engagement via the Instagram post back in March.

Meanwhile, on Sunday night, broadcast cameras showed an emotional Loop trudging off the field after missing the crucial kick – before being consoled by his teammates.

In particular, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was seen comforting the rookie, as seen in a video of them walking to the visitor locker room at Acrisure Stadium.

Speaking to media after the game, Loop said:  ‘For it to end like that sucks, and I want to do better.

‘Unfortunately, the nature of the job is you have makes, and those are awesome, and unfortunately, you have misses, and for that to happen tonight sucks.’

When asked about when he realized the kick wasn’t good, Loop said: ‘The second it made contact with my foot, I felt it lower.

‘We talk about hitting on the fourth lace of the shoe. I felt a little lower down the foot and hit it thin.’
