Titans reflect on season, express confidence in GM Mike Borgonzi

  • January 6, 2026

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans gathered Monday for one last time in the 2025-26 season.

Players and coaches took part in exit interviews amongst each other, and the team cleaned its things out of the locker room while addressing the media.

Capping a 3-14 season with a 41-7 loss at Jacksonville Sunday, the Titans marked their fourth-straight season with a losing record.

Despite that fact, players expressed a lot of optimism and positivity for the future when reflecting on this year. Specifically, they strongly supported general manager Mike Borgonzi and his vision.

Tennessee owner Amy Adams Strunk recently clarified duties within the front office, highlighting the change that Borgonzi, now in his second year as Titans GM, will pick and support the roster as well as oversee the coaching staff.

Borgonzi spent four seasons as assistant general manager for the Kansas City Chiefs, among 16 total seasons with the franchise, winning three Super Bowls in that span.

“His mindset and his vision, you know, he gets paid to do that,” Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons said. “Mike (Borgonzi) knows what it looks like. He was in Kansas City for a long time, and he was around winning football. He knows what winning feels like, he knows what winning looks like, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Titans quarterback Cam Ward similarly supported Borgonzi.

“We see eye-to-eye,” Ward said of him and Borgonzi. “The draft class that he brought in proved it. He’s a GM who’s connected to his players. He wants to know things about them. So he’s within the building, and it’s good because whether we want to get someone in the draft or we want to sign somebody in free agency, he’s going to make the right call. He’s going make the call with the head coach, and we’re going to be behind him.”

The Tennessee Titans are set to pick fourth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.
