The Kansas City Chiefs are set to overhaul their roster this offseason and it could spell an exit for Taylor Swift‘s second favorite player – behind fiance Travis Kelce.Â
For the first time since 2014, Andy Reid‘s Chiefs missed out on the playoffs and went out in embarrassing fashion after a 14-12 loss to the NFL’s worst team on Sunday.Â
The disappointing season has lead to question marks over the future of head coach Reid, tight end Kelce and a number of other players and staff in Kansas City.Â
Among those is running back Isiah Pacheco, who has likely played his final game for the team, according to recent reports.
Pacheco ran for 1,765 yards and 12 touchdowns during his first two seasons with the Chiefs but has been blighted with injuries of late and struggled to recreate that form.Â
Since returning from a knee injury, the running back has only recorded 46 yards on 12 carries, along with two receptions for 17 yards in the Chiefs’ last two games.Â

According to KC Kingdom, there is now a strong likelihood that Pacheco is swapped out for a ‘cheaper and younger’ replacement – with rookie Brashard Smith tipped to take his place.Â
Meanwhile, reports have also emerged claiming that Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is closing in on the vacant head coach role with the Tennessee Titans.Â
Should he complete that move, reports have claimed that he could be interested in bringing the running back with him to Tennessee.
Back in 2024, Pacheco was dubbed as Swift’s ‘second favorite’ player on the Chiefs after she was seen singing his name during their game against the Bills last season.Â
After Pacheco found a hole in the offensive line and stood up Bills defensive back Micah Hyde to get into the end zone, he received a celebratory shove from Swift’s boyfriend and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.Â
The cameras then panned to Swift visibly excited and cheering, chanting his name. The 12-time Grammy winner then flexed her fingers and outstretched all 10 digits, in honor of Pacheco, who wears No 10 for Kansas City.Â
Pacheco’s touchdown proved to be the final score of the game in the Chiefs’ 27-24 Divisional round victory over the Bills.Â
Meanwhile, Swift’s favorite player on the roster – fiance Travis Kelce – has finally spoken out on the retirement rumors which have circulated for months.Â
When asked in the locker room about his timeline for making a decision, following their defeat to the Raiders, Kelce replied: ‘First things first, I just love this team. I’m proud of the way we finished this, even though it ended the way it did.

Meanwhile, Swift’s fiance Travis Kelce might also be stepping away from Kansas CityÂ
‘Guys still showed up. Gave it their all and that’s all you can ask for, man. I’ve got so much love for this team, this organization and the people here so I’ll spend some time with them, go through exit meetings tomorrow, get close to the family and figure things out.
‘Who knows? Either it hits me quick or I’ve got to take some time. Last year was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away I wanted to give this one a shot. I don’t know. We’ll see.’Â
Asked if he felt he achieved what he wanted to when he decided to return this season, Kelce replied: ‘Obviously we didn’t do as well as a team but I feel like I came into the season prepared and ready to rock and roll with the right intentions.Â
‘The ball just didn’t go our way in a lot of those close games unfortunately and I think if I do choose to come back that’s something I’ve really got to focus on, making sure I’m available and ready for those moments.’
Without the injured Patrick Mahomes at quarterback on Sunday, the Chiefs failed to score a touchdown and put up just 168 yards of total offense. Instead, all 12 of their points came from the boot of kicker Harrison Butker.
But despite the loss in Sin City, it was still a good day for Kelce personally as he made more NFL history. He became just the third tight end in NFL history to reach 13,000 career receiving yards, finishing with 12 off three receptions and six targets.
