Buffalo Bills‘ head coach Sean McDermott offered high praise for Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Jakobi Meyers ahead of Sunday’s AFC wild-card game.

“I thought one of the moves that’s made a difference for them offensively is adding Jakobi Meyers,” McDermott said. “A good pickup for them. Probably a guy that’s, quite honestly, been undervalued in his career, but going against him in New England, a ton of respect for his game.”

The Jaguars acquired Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders prior to this year’s trade deadline. In his nine games with Jacksonville, Meyers has caught 42 passes for 483 yards with three touchdowns, according to PFF.

Meyers’ sure hands added needed stability to the Jaguars’ passing game after dropped passes were an issue at times during the first half of the season.

But going beyond Meyers’ production, he’s been an excellent fit schematically for the Liam Coen offense with his ability to move around the formation, his willingness as a run-blocker, and his ability to do the dirty work and attack the middle and intermediate level of the field.

His presence has added flexibility to the Jaguars’ offense and expanded Coen’s call sheet on game days.

On and off the field, Meyers made a quick impact in Jacksonville, earning him a three-year contract extension worth $60 million.
