While the San Francisco 49ers are preparing for a playoff matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, a few other teams are looking for the next men to lead their franchises.
San Francisco won’t be one of those teams looking for a new head coach when there season comes to an end, but they could be searching for a new defensive coordinator, as Robert Saleh is a candidate for multiple jobs.
After it was reported that the Arizona Cardinals requested permission to interview Saleh earlier in the week, The MMQB’s Albert Breer shared on Thursday that the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons have done the same.
Tennessee fired head coach Brian Callahan during the season, but they have a first-overall pick quarterback in Cam Ward and the fourth pick in the 2026 NFL draft which could be enticing to an incoming head coach.
Atlanta fired Raheem Morris, who previously worked with Kyle Shanahan in Atlanta and Washington, at the end of the season. They also have a first-round pick quarter in Michael Penix as well as Drake London and Bijan Robinson on rookie contracts. Those would be a few pieces for Saleh to build around if he was interested.
