The Arizona Cardinals so far have eight candidates they wish to interview for their vacant head coaching job. They fired Jonathan Gannon on Monday after the Cardinals finished the season 3-14. tehy ended the year losing nine straight games and 14 of their last 15.
A potential candidate many did not anticipate was just let go from his previous job. The Miami Dolphins decided to part ways with head coach Mike McDaniel on Thursday, days after it appeared he would return for a fifth season leading the Dolphins.

While he is already drawing interest from some teams, could the Cardinals get involved?
He went 35-33 with Miami in four seasons, taking the Dolphins to the postseason twice, although he went 0-2 in the playoffs.
Will the Cardinals be interested in McDaniel?
Many already dream of him coming to Arizona as an offensive coordinator, paired with Robert Saleh as head coach, as both worked together on the San Francisco 49ers under Kyle Shanahan.
However, the truth is that if the Cardinals do not have interest in him as a head coach, he would likely not be interested in their OC job, considering the openings there already are that are more exciting with more certainty at quarterback — the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers all come to mind.

We will see if he ends up being targeted by the Cardinals as a potential candidate to replace Gannon.
