With the Indianapolis Colts’ 2025 NFL season now behind us, let’s take a look back at how GM Chris Ballard’s 2025 NFL draft class performed.
1.14: TE Tyler Warren
It was an excellent year for Warren. He was one of the top receivers on the Colts, and among all tight ends, he ranked fifth in receiving yards.
But beyond his passing game production, Warren’s ability as a blocker in the run game and overall versatility allows him to fill different roles and line up across the formation, which opens up the playbook for Shane Steichen. With Warren able to wear so many hats, he adds some unpredictability to this unit.Â
2.45: DE JT Tuimoloau
At a defensive end position group for the Colts that was unable to generate steady pass rush production for much of the season, Tuimoloau still saw minimal playing time. He finished the season with 215 defensive snaps. In an effort to create more pressure, one would have thought that Tuimoloau would have seen more opportunities as a way to switch things up. But that really didn’t happen consistently.

The Colts placed Walley on season-ending IR with a knee injury prior to the regular season.
4.127: OT Jalen Travis
Travis didn’t see extensive playing time until Week 14 when he took over for Braden Smith. Travis held his own, allowing one sack and 12 pressures over 175 pass-blocking snaps. He also graded out well as a run-blocker by PFF’s metrics. He will likely be the Colts’ right tackle moving forward. Smith is a free agent this offseason.
5.151: RB DJ Giddens
Early on in the year, Giddens shared some of the RB2 reps with Tyler Goodson, but for the second half of the year, he was mostly inactive on Sundays with the emergence of Ameer Abdullah. To earn more playing time, pass protection is one specific area where Giddens will have to continue improving.
6.189: QB Riley Leonard
As we wrote about recently, Leonard’s performance against Houston may have earned him the backup quarterback job for the 2026 season. Against one of the best defenses in football, there isn’t much more that you could have asked from him in that game.
6.190: IDL Tim Smith
Smith spent this season on the practice squad. He was elevated to the game day roster at one point mid-season, but didn’t see any snaps as a rookie.
7.232: S Hunter Wohler
Wohler was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury prior to the 2025 season.
