The wild card round of the 2025 NFL playoffs is nearly in the books, and with it comes the end of the season for several former Texas A&M tandouts, while a handful continue their postseason push.
One player whose stat line won’t jump off the page but whose impact was still felt: Carolina Panthers rookie edge rusher Nic Scourton, who was active, disruptive, and consistently around the football against the Los Angeles Rams.
With Carolina’s loss, Scourton’s debut NFL season is officially over, but he closed it out with another encouraging performance. He finished with one tackle, broke up multiple plays, and held strong at the point of attack—continuing the theme of what he was all year: one of the better run‑defending rookies in the league. He now heads into 2026 with valuable playoff experience and a clear foundation to build on.
For the Panthers, this was exactly the type of early return you hope for from a young pass rusher—steady disruption, growing confidence, and flashes of the ceiling that made him such a coveted prospect. It’s an encouraging first chapter in what already looks like a long, productive NFL career.
Below are some of his standout snaps from the wild-card matchup.
