With the Indianapolis Colts’ season now behind us, let’s take a look at how Pro Football Focus graded the 2025 rookie draft class.

Below is a look at PFF’s grading system for some context. While this metric is very helpful when it comes to quantifying a player’s performance, PFF’s grading system isn’t the be-all and end-all either. It is one metric out of many that are out there.

90.0+: Elite80-89.9: High quality70-79.9: Good60-69.9: Above average50-59.9: Average40-49.9: Below average39.9 or less: Poor

Now, here are the PFF grades for each Colts‘ rookie.

1.14: TE Tyler Warren

PFF grade: 67.6

Warren was one of the top receivers on the Colts, and among all tight ends, he ranked fifth in receiving yards. Also important, Warren graded out as a solid blocker as well. His do-it-all presence opens up the playbook for Shane Steichen.

2.45: DE JT Tuimoloau

PFF grade: 60.6

Despite being a second-round draft pick and the Colts struggling to generate a steady pass rush, Tuimoloau played just 215 snaps as a rookie. He logged 14 pressures and no sacks over 130 pass rush reps. He graded out as an average run defender.

3.80: CB Justin Walley

PFF grade: N/A

The Colts placed Walley on season-ending IR with a knee injury prior to the regular season.

4.127: OT Jalen Travis

PFF grade: 72.2

Travis took over at right tackle for Braden Smith in Week 14 and held his own. He gave up one sack and 12 pressures over 175 pass-blocking snaps. Travis graded out well as a run blocker, also.

5.151: RB DJ Giddens

PFF grade: 52.2

Giddens shared the RB2 job with Tyler Goodson for the first half of the season — a role that was still very small. However, in the second half of the season, he was a regular healthy scratch on game days. Giddens carried the ball 26 times for 96 yards. He did not catch any passes and must improve in pass protection.

6.189: QB Riley Leonard

PFF grade: 65.5

In that Houston game, Leonard showed that he can be a dependable backup quarterback — assuming the Colts are bringing back Daniel Jones. In that game, Leonard completed 21-of-34 passes for 270 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. On the season, he had two rushing touchdowns as well.

6.190: IDL Tim Smith

PFF grade: N/A

Smith spent this season on the practice squad. He was elevated to the game day roster at one point mid-season, but didn’t see any snaps as a rookie.

7.232: S Hunter Wohler

PFF grade: N/A

Wohler was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury prior to the 2025 season.
