PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Same song, different verse for the Eagles – only this time, the curtain closed and the show’s over.

Philadelphia tallied only 36 yards in the third quarter on 16 plays in another uneven offensive performance. The defense, like they have all season, kept them in the game but in the end – it was the Niners prevailing and moving on to the NFC Divisional Round, eliminating the defending Super Bowl champs.

“It’s been a common theme for us this year,” said Saquon Barkley. “We haven’t done a good enough job of playing complete football. Putting two halves together. Sometimes, you get into this moment, we’ll figure it out – and it caught up to us. That’s really what happened. It’s been the same thing all year. We just didn’t do enough.”

San Francisco will advance to face the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round next weekend. The Birds, well, they will have to wait until next year.

“”With our schedule and what we did last year, everybody is gonna play their best against us,” said Cooper DeJean. “We had a lot of ups and downs throughout the season. But I’m proud of our team and how we fought and how we stuck together.”
