The Giants, of course, are not alone in their pursuit of John Harbaugh.

But a potential contender may have an edge over New York in nabbing the former Ravens coach.

If the Packers decide to move on from Matt LaFleur after Green Bay’s stunning playoff loss to the Bears on Saturday, they have a Harbaugh connection.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Packers President Bob Harlan is “royalty” in Green Bay. His son, Bryan, is an agent who represents Harbaugh.

Schefter added that Harbaugh has “deep midwestern roots and ties.”

Unless things have changed after the playoff exit, however, there isn’t expected to be an opening in Green Bay. Before Saturday’s loss, NFL Network reported that LaFleur and Packers president Ed Policy will meet after the season to discuss a contract extension.

The Raiders, Browns, Falcons, Cardinals and Titans are also all looking for a new head coach.

Harbaugh, 63, has a 180-113 regular season record and is 13-11 in the postseason. His 180 wins rank 14th all-time and his 13 playoff wins are tied for seventh.

The Ravens won a Super Bowl under Harbaugh in the 2012 season but haven’t returned since.
