Things couldn’t have gone better for Indiana or Miami this year.
Fernando Mendoza’s undefeated 15-0 Hoosiers haven’t lost a game since they fell to Notre Dame last December. Their commanding 56-22 win over the Oregon Ducks in the Peach Bowl only further solidifies their standing.
As for Carson Beck’s No. 10 Hurricanes, they lost two games in the regular season — unranked Louisville and SMU pulled off surprise upsets — but have rolled through the playoffs beating No. 7 Texas A&M in a play-off, No. 2 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl and No. 6 Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl to reach the big game.
Now, they get to play on their home field on Monday, Jan. 19 when they face off against Indiana at Hard Rock Stadium in the College Football Championship.
If you’d like to see the two elite yet charmed clubs go head-to-head, tickets are still available.
After a bit of digging through sites like Ticketmaster and StubHub, our team found that the cheapest seats available were $3,214 including fees on GameTime at the time of publication.
Coming in second is Vivid Seats at $3,282 including fees.
A win on Monday in Miami would amount to the Hoosier’s first title in the school’s history; as for the Hurricanes, they’d secure their sixth championship. They previously hoisted banners to the rafters in 1983, ’87, ’89, ’91 and 2001.
Two nearly perfect seasons all come down to this.
Throw in the fact that Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza grew up less than a mile away from Miami’s campus and you have a bona fide barnburner full of drama, intrigue and spectacle.
This is what January College Football is all about.
We’re already counting down the minutes until kickoff.

About the Indiana-Miami matchup
Interestingly enough, Indiana and Miami have not met on the gridiron since October 1966.
Now, nearly 60 (!) long years later, they’ll take the biggest stage in the sport.
On Monday, Indiana will be favored by nearly all prognosticators due to their complete and utter domination of nearly all opponents they met this season. Only three of their wins were decided by five points or less. That’s just how good Curt Cignetti’s club has been.
Yet, if Miami slows the game down, as Yahoo Sports suggests, they may stand a chance as “…a slower pace will best emphasize the Hurricanes’ defensive strengths.”
