Michigan just made a big addition to its offense through the transfer portal for 2026, as the Wolverines have received the commitment from former Texas wide receiver Jaime Ffrench.
Ffrench is entering his second year in college, but didn’t play a big role for the Longhorns in 2025. He appeared in just four games while catching one pass for six yards, preserving his redshirt status.
However, Ffrench was a highly-regarded recruit coming out of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a four-star as the No. 44 overall player in the country and the No. 9 wide receiver according to the 247Sports composite. He checks in at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and has the capability to play in the slot or on the outside.
The commitment from Ffrench comes after he made a quick visit to Ann Arbor shortly after entering the portal and jumping to the top of Michigan’s wishlist. Wide receiver was a major position of need coming into the offseason, given the graduation of Donaven McCulley at portal entry of Semaj Morgan.
Michigan already had a solid foundation in place with Andrew Marsh, but needed to provide Bryce Underwood with another weapon to help make the passing attack as strong as possible. With Marsh being retained and this commitment, Michigan is off to a great start this winter.
