Michigan football is set to add more help to the secondary via the transfer portal.

Memphis defensive back Chris Bracy, who started in 11 games for the Tigers in 2025, committed to the Wolverines for 2026, The Ann Arbor News/ MLive confirmed Monday night.

Bracy, with two years of college eligibility left, has announced the move on Instagram.

Listed at 6 foot 1 and 195 pounds, Bracy ranked third in tackles (81) for Memphis in 2025, compiling 9.5 tackles for loss, a team-high nine pass breakups and one interception at safety.

He transferred to Memphis from UAB, where he appeared in 15 games over the course of two seasons. Eleven of those came as a true freshman in 2023, and Bracy began 2024 in a starting role before a foot injury in Week 2 sidelined him for most of the season.

A Mobile, Ala., native, Bracy was a three-star prospect out St. Paul’s Episcopal. He joins a Michigan secondary in need of experience after safeties Brandyn Hillman, TJ Metcalf and Jaden Mangham entered the transfer portal.
