While many are waiting on John Harbaugh to announce whether or not he will interview with the Tennessee Titans for their head coaching vacancy, the Titans quietly added another name to the mix. And it’s another defensive-minded candidate.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Tennessee will interview former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon on Sunday for the head coaching position.
Gannon is an interesting and surprising candidate, having been a successful defensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021-22 before taking the Cardinals’ job in 2023. During that period, the Eagles ranked second in the league in total yards and were in the top 10 in multiple categories.
Unfortunately, his tenure with the Cardinals did not see the same success. He finished with a 15-26 record and zero playoff appearances in three seasons at the helm, including matching the Titans’ record at 3-14 in 2025. Gannon will also interview with the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders for their open defensive coordinator positions this week.
The addition of Gannon now expands the Titans’ search to 18 candidates, with 10 interviews still on tap.
