Sean McDermott Praises Josh Allen’s ‘Toughness,’ Cornerback Also Gets Kudos
“It trickles down from him in terms of the team’s toughness,” Bills head coach Sean McDermott said of Allen in the Jags game. The quarterback finished the game with 306 yards of offense and three total touchdowns.
McDermott went on, “When your quarterback is that type of warrior, that type of competitor, from a leadership standpoint it just goes through the whole team. We’ve got to get him as healthy as we can, though, for next week. It’s not something we take lightly. I did think overall that he took some hits today, but there were also sometimes where we protected him well.”
Another player, cornerback Tre’Davious White, is getting praise for his performance, too. “‘Game over. Game over,’” is what White said was going through his head when safety Cole Bishop came down with the ball. “‘Get down. Get down. Don’t try to run it back for a touchdown. Get down so we just go onto the next game.’”
According to research from DraftKings Network, Denver opened as an early 1.5-point favorite and -112 on the money line.
