Dallas Cowboys rookie defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku was arrested Sunday for reckless driving in Texas.
Ezeiruaku’s arrest occurred around 11:54 p.m. Sunday, when a DPS trooper initiated a traffic stop after he observed a vehicle “being operated recklessly” on the southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway in Plano, Texas, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced.
He was charged with one count of reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor, and was booked into Collin County Jail in McKinney, Texas. He posted a $500 bond and was released.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, per DPS.
Ezeiruaku, a collegiate standout at Boston College, was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The 22-year-old rookie recorded 40 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in 17 games for the Cowboys this season, including nine starts.
Cowboys officials said Monday the organization was aware of Ezeriuaku’s arrest, but had no comment on the situation, The Dallas Morning News reports. Ezeriuaku could not be immediately reached for comment.
