NFL players who end the season on a practice squad are eligible to sign a reserve/future contract with their team. If they do not sign a reserve/future deal and their practice squad contract expires, they are eligible to sign with other clubs.
Last week, five former Denver Broncos players landed reserve/future deals from their teams. Seven other ex-Broncos did not receive deals, and their practice squad contracts expired on Monday, making them free agents.
The Arizona Cardinals allowed the contracts of offensive tackle Marques Cox and wide receiver Trent Sherfield to expire, the Washington Commanders let wide receiver River Cracraft and defensive end DeMarcus Walker walk, the Cleveland Browns did not bring back wide receiver Kaden Davis, the Minnesota Vikings did not re-sign running back Sincere McCormick and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers allowed lineman Adam Gotsis to hit free agency.

Cox, Sherfield and McCormick all spent time in Denver earlier this season. They are now eligible to sign reserve/future contracts with NFL teams no longer in the playoffs. The Broncos will sign players to reserve/future deals once their season concludes — most of the players will likely be signed from Denver’s own practice squad.
