COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The status of the annual University of South Carolina “Garnet and Black” spring football game is now in question.
The game, typically played in early or mid-April, could potentially not be played at all due to the ongoing construction at Williams-Brice Stadium, a spokesperson with the university’s athletics department said.

Construction began on the stadium in December of 2025, soon after the conclusion of this year’s football season. The first phase is expected to be finished in time for the start of the 2026 season.
