The Carolina Panthers’ season fell just short in the NFL Playoffs after their dramatic Wild Card Round defeat against the Los Angeles Rams.

However, many NFL fans were impressed by the strides that the Panthers took, especially third-year quarterback Bryce Young.

Now, it appears that the Carolina Panthers are willing to commit further to the former Alabama Crimson Tide star. Panthers general manager Dan Morgan revealed that the team will pick up Young’s fifth-year option for the 2027 season.

Meanwhile, Over the Cap puts Young’s contract value at over $26.5 million for the fully guaranteed option in two years. The young signal caller is set to make a base salary of just over $1 million next season while only having a cap hit of around $12 million for Carolina.

The 2025 season was a huge stepping stone for Bryce Young and the Panthers though after reaching the playoffs. Young threw for over 3,000 yards for the first time in his NFL career while tossing 23 touchdown passes.

That includes a solid showing against the Rams during the Wild Card Round where Carolina nearly came away with a stunning win against Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay.

He also built up a solid chemistry with star receivers Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker, in addition to the Panthers’ stellar two-headed run game featuring Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle.
