The 49ers Faithful are one of the NFL’s best traveling fan bases, and the Seattle Seahawks are trying to get ahead of things and protect their home-field advantage as San Francisco visits Lumen Field on Saturday for the NFC Divisional Playoffs.
Starting last week, the Seahawks sent notices to select season ticket holders “warning they are at risk of having their tickets revoked if the team determines their sole purpose for having them is to resell them,” per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.
Some Seattle fans have posted screenshots of the email on social media, including this Seahawks season ticket holder who said he received the message after listing his divisional-round tickets for sale.
The wife and I are going to be out of town next weekend so unfortunately we will not attend the Hawks game. I recently posted the tickets for sale and get this BS email from @Seahawks! I pay for my tickets and can do whatever I want with them. If anyone would like to go DM me. pic.twitter.com/X9xMmm6yOj

San Francisco fans are known for taking over opposing stadiums, but that becomes more difficult for the Faithful if there are no tickets left to purchase.
The cheapest ticket currently available for Saturday’s 49ers-Seahawks game on Ticketmaster.com is listed at $506.10 as of Tuesday, while the most expensive is going for $3,391.50.
In the 49ers’ Week 1 game against the Seahawks in Seattle, Vivid Seats projected 53 percent of the crowd at Lumen Field to be wearing red and gold. But after San Francisco’s win, the Seahawks provided data showing 11 percent of the stadium’s fans were rooting for the 49ers, per KING 5 News.
While it remains to be seen how many 49ers Faithful make their way to Lumen Field, coach Kyle Shanahan knows a strong visiting crowd is vital to battling Seattle’s 12th Man.
“Oh, always,” Shanahan told reporters Tuesday of the road support’s importance. “I mean, our fan base shows up better than anyone to me in the NFL, better than anyone wherever I’ve ever been, by far. I think it’s always harder in the playoffs. For some reason, I don’t know how it works, but stadiums do a better job of getting into their home fans.
“But, our fans roll deep, so hopefully it’ll be the same as usual.”
