There’s a lot of talk about the forecasted weather and the rush to get tickets.
Only resale tickets are available for the Bears game, and they start at $500 each.
Bitter cold temperatures are expected for Sunday’s 5:30 p.m. game, which could work in Chicago’s favor.
“I think the cold weather helps us a little bit, depends how they play, too,” Bears fan Edgar Argueta said.
“I don’t know,” Bears fan Matt Rendina said. “They play all over the country; maybe their heat won’t work like the last Packers game. Maybe we’ll have that advantage”
The Bears are no strangers to playing in the cold, wind and snow, but the Rams have not played a game in below freezing temps since 2022.
With fans flocking to buy game tickets, the Better Business Bureau is urging people to keep an eye out for scams.
“Consumers have to realize, they should only buy from a licensed ticket broker, or the Chicago Bears, directly,” said Steve Bernas, BBB Chicago president and CEO. “Anything else you could end up buying bad tickets from a scammer and in some way losing money.”
The BBB also recommends you:
– Only deal with secure websites that begin with “HTTPS” and have a lock symbol in the address bar
– Beware of counterfeit tickets with forged barcodes
– Always use a credit card, so you have some protection if tickets are not as promised.
“If you use Cash app, you don’t have the same protection you do on a credit card. So, you can kiss the money goodbye, if you send it out,” Bernas said. “So, people think, ‘well, the banks will take care of me. They don’t, unfortunately.”
Whether you plan on coming out to the game, or watching it from the comfort of your home, one thing for sure is the Cardiac Bears will keep fans on their toes.
The LA Rams will be coming to Soldier Field with 13 wins, that’s one more win than the Bears, but the Bears don’t seem too worried about that.
“Don’t let us down,” Rendina said. “We are going to make it all the way this year. That’s the plan.”
All things Bears are literally flying off the shelves at places like Clark Street Sports.
Shoppers are looking for the latest in Bears gear, and there is a lot of it, from jerseys to hoodies and T-shirts.
Janira Moncerroso was looking for something for her son.
“I’m getting his T-shirt, so he can wear it to school on Friday,” Moncerroso said.
In the back of the store Tuesday, they were busy fulfilling internet orders for Bears gear. Business is brisk right now.
“I love doing what I do, but it’s so much more fun when a team is winning. This is awesome,” said Jason Caref, with Clark Street Sports.
If you’re going to the game, you might want to bundle up. Merchants are happy to help.
“We got scarves, earmuffs, winter hats. You name it. We’ll have you covered for warmth,” Caref said.
In the sports apparel business, they have to plan ahead. And so they have actually placed an order for Bears Super Bowl merchandise.
Here’s hoping they get to sell it.
