(Image via Getty: Aaron Rodgers) Aaron Rodgers is an Ayahuasca retreat lover, as we all know. The point of the retreat is to let go of painful past experiences and move forward with a brighter attitude. Is he able to do that? Probably not. Of the three NFL teams the 42-year-old quarterback played for, the New York Jets were likely the worst chapter of his life. He suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon in 2023 and a disappointing 5-12 record in 2024. Then rumors of his feud with then-head coach Robert Saleh broke internet records. But bringing it up repeatedly during press meets only makes his painful past more apparent.
Aaron Rodgers reportedly made his feud with the Jets apparent all over again
At a recent press conference, Rodgers had his last meeting for the 2025 season, which occurred after the Pittsburgh Steelers were eliminated from the NFL Playoffs by the C.J. Stroud-led Houston Texans in the Monday Night Football Wild Card Game. The Super Bowl XLV champion reportedly made his feud with the Jets apparent all over again. This time, it caught the attention of NFL aggregator and sports media personality Dov Kleiman.
Packers legend Aaron Rodgers is grateful for two NFL teams
Kleiman posted a clip from Rodgers’ press conference where the veteran signal caller is heard saying, “I was fortunate to play in an incredible football city for 18 years. And never took it for granted, enjoyed that time there, and this has been a really beautiful back end to the first 18, being able to be here for a year. This is a special place. You’ve got tradition, you’ve got excellence, you’ve got all-time greats. Even just looking around the stadium tonight, just to see the fans, there wasn’t a big splattering of Texans’ fans, and there’s a lot to be said for that. There’s only a few really special places in the league that have the tradition, and the town, and the organization, and I’m thankful to have played for two of them.”
Packers, Jets, and Steelers
Throughout his two-decade NFL career, the four-time NFL MVP has played for three teams: the Green Bay Packers from 2005 to 2022, the New York Jets from 2023 to 2024, and the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2025 to now [his one-year contract is over now, he’s a free agent…another day’s discussion]. By saying he was “thankful to have played for two of them,” Rodgers made it clear he appreciates his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, and his current team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, while seemingly leaving out his former team, the New York Jets. How did cybercitizens react to this clear display of favoritism? Let’s find out.
The kind of passive aggressive shot
“The Jets deserve the criticism, Look at how bad they are season after season, The ownership needs change,” one X user wrote. Another taunted the Super Bowl MVP, saying, “Aaron doesn’t do well with jabs.” While a third user called it a “Classic Rodgers shade [face with rolling eyes emoji].” A fourth user named the ten-time Pro Bowler, saying, “The king of a passive aggressive shot!” A fifth user declared, “He had to do it [three laughing face emojis].”Also Read: Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and his two-decade saga with the San Francisco 49ers
