John Harbaugh spent a decade with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the former Baltimore Ravens coach has taken a step toward joining one of the Eagles’ fiercest NFC East rivals.

Harbaugh is visiting with the New York Giants on Wednesday, according to a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

It’s Harbaugh’s first in-person visit and a “good sign” for the Giants, per Rapoport and Garafolo.

Rapoport continued: “There have been countless conversations between Harbaugh and Giants brass. There is a chance he does not leave the building.”

Harbaugh is one of the most sought-after options on the NFL coaching carousel after spending 18 seasons as the Ravens’ head coach.

Harbaugh was fired by the Ravens after they lost in Week 18 to the Steelers, securing the AFC North title for Pittsburgh and eliminating Baltimore from the playoffs.

Harbaugh, 63, ranks 12th for the most wins by a head coach in NFL history with 193, all of which came in Baltimore. He also guided the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in 2012.

Harbaugh joined the Ravens after spending 10 years as an assistant in Philadelphia. Harbaugh was the Eagles’ special teams coordinator from 1998-2006 and defensive backs coach in 2007.

Now, there’s a chance Harbaugh will be back in the NFC East, coaching against the Eagles twice a year for the Giants.
