Former Alabama running back Mark Ingram selected to 2026 College Football Hall of Fame class

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Former Alabama superstar Mark Ingram has been selected to the College Football Hall of Fame, announced Wednesday by the National Football Foundation (NFF).

Ingram played for the Crimson Tide from 2008-2010 and amassed over 3,200 rushing yards and over 40 rushing touchdowns over the span of three seasons. In 2009, Ingram became the first player in the history of Alabama football to win the Heisman Trophy after he ran for over 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns while helping lead the Tide to the BCS National Championship where he was also named MVP of the title game.

Ingram’s 42 career collegiate rushing touchdowns rank 3rd in program history while his 3, 261 rank 7th.

After his career in Tuscaloosa, Ingram was a 1st round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints and spent 10 of his 12 seasons there before finishing his career with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Alabama Athletics, Ingram becomes the 28th former Crimson Tide player or coach to go into the Hall of Fame and is the third Tide inductee since 2024. Antonio Langham was named as an inductee in 2024 and Nick Saban was named in 2025.

Ingram was one of 22 inductees to be named to the 2026 Hall of Fame class. The formal induction ceremony will take place Tuesday, Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.
