The Cal Poly football team has been busy getting its staff under head coach Tim Skipper ready for next season.
The Mustangs named Anthony Soto offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach who takes over for Timm Rosenbach.
Soto spent the last two seasons at Mercer as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach where the Bears averaged more than 34 points and 442 yards per game.
Prior to Mercer, Soto spent four years at NCAA Division II Senior Rhyne in North Carolina coaching with similar numbers.
Lenoir-Rhyne averaged 433.9 yards per game of total offense including 420.5 yards passing. That was good for the fifth best total offense in Div. II. His offense also turned the ball over just 10 times during a 15-game season in 2023.
Soto grew up in Fresno and played wide receiver for Big Sky foe UC Davids from 2009-2012. Logging 107 career receptions for 1,269 yards.
Cal Poly named Robbie Rouse running backs coach, Trevon Bradford wide receivers coach, Pat Markarian offensive line coach and run game coordinator, and Tavita Thompson tight ends coach.
This will be Rouse’s second stint with the Mustangs having served as running backs coach for Beau Baldwin in 2022.
