The Tennessee Titans revamped their edge rusher unit during the offseason, saying goodbye to a stalwart and adding veterans and youth to the roster to improve results.
They first released Harold Landry in a salary cap move before the start of free agency. Their sack leader in 2024 will now be suiting up for the New England Patriots and return to Nashville for a Week 7 tussle.

During free agency, the Titans added veterans Dre’Mont Jones and Lorenzo Carter to the unit to add some experience, and followed that up with selecting UCLA edge Oluwafemi Oladejo. Even with those changes, one constant remains: Arden Key, who will look to build upon his 2024 season and take on a larger role on the defense.
Statistically, Key had an uneven season in 2024, but flashed solid pass rush skills and was used in many ways. This year, the Titans are hoping those glimpses turn into larger production, and Key takes the next step. Matt Holder of Bleacher Report believes the same thing and named Key as Tennessee’s best kept secret.
Tennessee Titans: EDGE Arden Key
Likely part of the reason the Titans felt comfortable letting Harold Landry III go this offseason is because Key has been a steady presence on the edge.
He’s racked up six and six-and-a-half sacks during his two years in Tennessee, respectively, and has gotten to the quarterback 26.5 times since getting waived by the Raiders four years ago.
Tennessee definitely needs more production from its edge unit in 2025. While there were moments of consistency in 2024, their pass rush as a whole was subpar. Key stepping into a bigger role could pay dividends, especially early in the season, as the new faces integrate into the unit.
