WASHINGTON, DC (WWBT) – The Washington Commanders and design firm HKS are giving the first look at what a new football stadium in the nation’s capital could look like.
“The roofed stadium will be a dynamic, year-round destination for sports, entertainment and community engagement, integrating sustainable design practices and reimagining the fan experience through immersive spaces,” the Commanders and HKS said in a news release.
Check out the first conceptual renderings:
“These renderings give DC a lot to look forward to – a beautiful and unique waterfront stadium and the return of our Commanders; year-round events that are steps away from an entertainment district and public transportation; and, of course, jobs for DC residents and new opportunities for DC businesses,” said Mayor Muriel Bowser.
A new stadium is expected to be completed in 2030.
