A former Carolina Panthers draft pick has found another home.
On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Raiders announced their signing of linebacker Michael Barrett. Barrett was Carolina’s seventh-round selection from the 2024 NFL draft.
The Panthers took the University of Michigan standout with last year’s 240th overall pick. Barrett entered the pros as a 2023 national champion with the Wolverines and a two-time third-team All-Big Ten member.
Carolina, however, parted ways with Barrett before the regular season—trading him to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for cornerback Mike Jackson on Aug. 22, 2024. Jackson, who went on to start in all 17 games, signed a two-year, $14.5 million deal with the Panthers earlier this spring.
After being released by the Seahawks in early September, Barrett went on to pick up stints with the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers to close out his rookie campaign.
