Michael Irvin’s 2026 is starting out with a bang.
Not only are his beloved Miami Hurricanes in the National Championship, but Irvin along with Netflix on Wednesday announced the debut of a new sports talk podcast.
The White House with Michael Irvin, a play on the moniker of the infamous party house of the 1990s Cowboys, will premiere on Jan. 19 on Netflix, hosted solo by the former Cowboy and Hall of Fame wide receiver.

“I am excited about this new venture with Netflix and the opportunity to blend elements of traditional television with the evolving world of podcasting,” Irvin shared with Netflix’s Tudum. “This project allows us to take what worked in the old format and reimagine it for today’s audience.”
The show will tackle current sports news, game analysis, and commentary with two episodes a week. Irvin will be welcoming on a “rotating roster” of co-hosts and guest stars, but it’ll be The Playmaker running the show and leading the discussion. Fellow former wide receiver Brandon Marshall’s athlete-led podcast company will produce the show.
Irvin is new to Netflix but is no stranger to television or talk shows, having worked on both ESPN and the NFL Network in the past. He was suspended from ESPN in 2005 due to a drug arrest and was eventually let go in 2007.
Irvin’s reputation as a heavy partier was emphasized and explored further in Netflix’s 2025 Cowboys docuseries “America’s Team: A Gambler and his Cowboys.” If his new podcast’s name is any indication, he and the streaming Network aren’t shying away from his past.
“We chose the name ‘The White House’ intentionally,” Irvin said. “In a crowded media landscape, recognition matters — and few names carry the same immediate weight. For better or worse, ‘The White House’ represents power, decision-making, and cultural relevance. It’s a name people recognize and are compelled to engage with.”
