Which 2026 NFL draft prospect would be the perfect fit for the Indianapolis Colts in the second round?

Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus recently answered that question.

Since the Colts do not have a first-round draft pick after acquiring cornerback Sauce Gardner prior to this past season’s trade deadline, Indianapolis won’t be on the clock until pick No. 47 overall.

But at that point of the draft, Chadwick likes Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. for the Colts.

“Indianapolis would be wise to upgrade a linebacker group that earned the third-worst PFF overall grade as a unit (40.8),” Chadwick wrote. “The versatile Hill was an effective run defender, pass rusher and coverage player throughout his three years at Texas.”

Hill Jr. has played nearly 2,000 defensive snaps over the last three seasons. During that span, he has generated 60 quarterback pressures and logged 227 total tackles, according to PFF.

In coverage, he’s allowed 8.3 yards per reception with three interceptions and two pass breakups. While mostly playing from the box, Hill Jr. has experience in the slot and lining up along the defensive front.

Colts’ GM Chris Ballard said during his season-ending press conference that getting younger and faster on defense was going to be a priority this offseason. Linebacker is one of those positions for Indianapolis that would benefit from that.
