Now that the push for John Harbaugh has come to an end, the Tennessee Titans will jump back into their coaching search on Friday and carry on through the weekend as they attempt to wrap up the first round of interviews.

While some have questioned the rationale for conducting such a wide search, NFL analyst Andrew Brandt offers a different perspective on Mike Borgonzi’s approach this offseason.

“Listen, I saw something that the Titans’ list is now burgeoned to 17 candidates. And I say, absolutely good on you, Tennessee Titans. Everyone should be doing the same. There is no harm to casting as wide a net as possible in these NFL interviews.” Brandt said, “No harm. I don’t see any downside. The people who rush to get it first usually don’t get it right.“

Borgonzi is scheduled to meet with Brian Daboll, Jonathan Gannon, Mike McCarthey, and Robert Saleh over the weekend, as they attempt to pare their initial list down to three or four candidates for a second round of interviews.

The Titans’ list of candidates sits at 17, with Kliff Kingsbury’s rumored interview remaining unscheduled. More names could be added in the coming days.
