What to know about the Rams vs. Bears Divisional Playoff game on NBC & Peacock
Both of these teams battled through tough divisions to get here. The Rams, still trying to get back to the Super Bowl after their 2022 victory behind head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford, finished second in the NFC West behind only the top-seeded Seahawks, while the Bears fought through a very challenging NFC North to win the division for the first time since 2018.Â
Despite the division title and homefield advantage for the Bears, the Rams enter this game as the favorites, thanks to, among other things, the most productive offense in the league throughout the regular season. Stafford, who will turn 38 years old just one day before Super Bowl LX, leads the NFL in both passing yards and passing touchdowns on the season, and while he’s dealing with a finger sprain on his throwing hand right now, it looks like he’ll be ready to play on Sunday.Â
In the other corner you have the Bears, who’ve proven to be one of the league’s most exciting teams this season. They lead the NFL in turnovers, which means if you make an offensive mistake they will make you pay for it, and while quarterback Caleb Williams has certainly made the passing game work, they’re also the best in the NFC when it comes to their rushing attack. One place they don’t excel, though, is on defense. Apart from that turnover margin, they’ve struggled to keep other teams out of the end zone, allowing more than 24 points per game throughout the regular season. That could be their Kryptonite if the Rams offense arrives in the right shape, but as we saw when they played the Packers last week, the Bears are also capable of making some magic at home under the Soldier Field lights. If we’re lucky, we’ll get another NFC thriller.Â
The playoffs continue this weekend with the Divisional Round on NBC and Peacock, all taking us one step closer to Super Bowl LX, which will air exclusively on NBC and stream on Peacock on Sunday, February 8.
