Eagles fans’ expectations of a Super Bowl repeat were silenced last Sunday by the Francisco 49ers in a disappointing 23-19 loss.  The Locker Room crew were in attendance for a very cold game to watch.  There is plenty of blame to go around, Birds Quarterback Jalen Hurts, the offensive line, and of course, the offensive coordinator all underachieved.  As a result, the Eagles “relieved” Kevin Patullo of his Offensive Coordinator, and there will be several changes to next year’s team.  We will recap the Eagles’ season this weekend in The Locker Room.

The Philadelphia Flyers have hit the skids. The Flyers have been hit with the injury bug and are 0-4-1 in their last five games.  During the last five games, the Flyers have only scored nine goals and have allowed 25 goals.  It’s a total power outage, and what’s worse is the power play, or lack there of, going 2-16 (just 12.5 percent).  The Flyers have the worst power play in the NHL, and the only “good news” is the Flyers host the Rangers Saturday at 1pm.

The Philadelphia 76ers are 22-17 and currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers were dominated by the Cleveland Cavaliers 133-107 on Wednesday night. Sloppy play, turnovers, and uninspired play basketball doomed the team from the start. The Sixers get another shot at the Cavs Friday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena. We will cover all the hot topics this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw and former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dave Klemic join me in the studio.  We will talk about our Eagles and our experience at the game.  Our first guest is the president of the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association Mike Shute.  They are holding their annual banquet on Wednesday, January 21st at the Double Tree by Hilton in Cherry Hill.  The Flyers and Sixers give us plenty to talk about before we get our “High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT.

On Sunday’s show, Producer Alex Berardis joins me in the studio. We will talk Eagles football and get our last “Keys to the Game” segment with Fox 29 news sports anchor Scott Grayson brought to you by Blitz’s market in Ocean City. Grayson will recap the Eagles season with us.   In Hour Two, Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda will check in brought to you by the Vassar Pool Service. The Neagdelphian will have plenty to get off his chest. Finally, my Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley will make his last stint for this football season, brought to you by Charlies Bar of Somers Point.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN Radio South Jersey.
