As the Philadelphia Eagles look for a new play caller, some big names have emerged. Guys like Mike McDaniel, Brian Daboll, Kevin Sefanski, and Kliff Kingsbury are all high-profile names that have head coaching experience, but don’t be surprised if the Eagles go with a lesser-known name.
“You’re looking to continue to evolve as an offense, said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni on Thursday. I’m looking to bring in the guy that’s going to best help us do that.”
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles have interviewed Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson for their vacant position.
Robinson has been the play caller in Atlanta for the past two seasons and was the Rams’ pass game coordinator before that, coming from the Sean McVay coaching tree. He had a solid first season with the Falcons, leading an offense that ranked 13th in points scored, but in 2025, the Falcons were outside the Top 20 in that category.
The bigger names that have been mentioned have yet to set up interviews with the team, but Eagles Executive Vice President and General Manager Howie Roseman did indicate that a candidate who might be a one-and-done coach wouldn’t deter them from hiring that person.
“It’s a great compliment when guys get head coaching jobs from here because it means we’re having tremendous success,” Roseman stated. “As much as you’d like to have continuity and would like to have guys here for a long period of time, we want to win. We have an urgency to win right now. If that comes with the ramifications that we lose good people because they’ve earned head coaching jobs, we’ll live with that.”
Jalen Hurts has worked with Doug Pederson, Nick Sirianni, Shane Steichen, Brian Johnson, Kellen Moore, and Kevin Patullo, so finding some stability at that position would be nice, but it would not prevent them from bringing in a higher-profile candidate that could get a head coaching job next season and put the Phillies right back on the search for a new offensive coordinator next offseason.
