The Georgia Bulldogs lost running back Roderick Robinson to the transfer portal this winter. Now, Robinson has committed and signed with the UAB Blazers.
Robinson is a sophomore and will have two years of eligibility left at UAB. He fought through several different injuries during his time at Georgia, but finished his UGA career on a high note when he scored a receiving touchdown in Georgia’s SEC championship win over Alabama.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pound running back has excellent size and strength. Robinson finished 2025 with six carries for 22 yards and two receptions for 13 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Robinson is a former four-star recruit from San Diego, California. He’s unranked as a transfer, per 247Sports. He’ll look for more playing time at UAB and will hopefully be healthy for the 2026 college football season.
Injuries cost Robinson nearly the entire 2024 season. Robinson missed time in 2024 with turf toe (the first 11 games) and later a broken ankle. Robinson appeared in two games in 2024 and had six touches for 37 yards. Robinson’s injuries were quite disappointing after he showed substantial promise as a true freshman.

During Robinson’s 2023 season, he posted career-best numbers. In 2023, Robinson recorded 24 carries for 196 yards and two touchdowns and showed a lot of upside as one of Georgia’s running back options of the future. His career at UGA did not work out, but he kept battling and found a way back on the field despite all the injuries.
Robinson’s departure means Georgia’s 2026 running backs group is expected to include Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens, Kentucky transfer Dante Dowdell, Dwight Philips, Bo Walker and four-star signee Jae Lamar. Georgia lost both Josh McCray and Cash Jones to the 2026 NFL draft (both players exhausted their eligibility).
