The hallmark of the Los Angeles Rams in 2025 is their high-scoring offense, and that’s exactly what one NFL executive told The Athletic’s Jeff Howe would kick off the team’s divisional round matchup against the Chicago Bears.

The executive predicted that “the Rams will get a lead, then the pass rushers will start getting after [Bears quarterback] Caleb [Williams], and they have the speed to chase him down.”

This isn’t a very bold take, but it’s what the Rams will need to accomplish to take down a Bears team that thrives when the chips are down. Chicago overcame an insane 21-3 halftime deficit to the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round before rallying for the win, and Williams led the NFL in fourth quarter comebacks this year with six.

The Rams’ issues have come when they’ve led too, though. L.A. lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 despite a 26-7 lead in the third quarter and allowed the Carolina Panthers to stick around all game in the wild-card round before mounting a late-game comeback win themselves.

L.A. is a well-coached team filled with stars on both sides of the ball. However, if they build a lead on Chicago, the Rams will need to rely on their defense to take care of business and stave off any comeback attempts from the Bears.
