The NFL slapped 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk with two fines totaling more than $20,000 for illegal use of his helmet in San Francisco’s playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
Juszczyk, who was not fined during the regular season, received two fines in the identical amounts of $10,144 for plays the league deemed as unnecessary roughness, illegal use of his helmet.
Every player on the 49ers made $53,500 in the wild-card round of the playoffs. The 49ers’ 23-19 victory over the Eagles guarantees that each player now will make $58,500 for their divisional-round game on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks.
Juszczyk’s first fine was the result of a second-quarter play when he served as the lead-blocker for running back Christian McCaffrey on a 3-yard run around right end. Juszczyk appeared to make forceable helmet-to-helmet contact against Eagles defensive end Jaelan Phillips.
His second fine was the result of a play that came at the end of a 27-yard pass play. Juszczyk lowered his helmet and ran over Philadelphia safety Reed Blankenship. The big gain was a key play that helped set up a go-ahead fourth-quarter touchdown on Jauan Jennings’ 29-yard touchdown pass to McCaffrey.
Juszczyk was the only player on either team that was fined in the 49ers-Eagles game
