A Spartans defensive back with experience has found a new home in the Mid-American Conference via the transfer portal.
Michigan State transfer safety Armorion Smith has committed to Toledo, according to a tweet from the Rockets football program. Smith has one more year of eligibility remaining.

In his time with Michigan State, Smith recorded 41 tackles and one interception, playing in 23 games and over 550 defensive snaps for the Spartans. He originally started his career at Cincinnati but transferred to Michigan State ahead of the 2023 season.
Michigan State will get the opportunity to face Smith next season, with the Spartans set to open the year against Toledo in 2026.
The transfer portal has officially closed but the players who have entered during the window still are able to commit to their new schools. So expect some more movement over the next few days from players similar to Smith.
