Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer is officially retiring.

Kromer, considered one of the best offensive line coaches in the league, had two stints with Buffalo (2015-2016, 2022-2025). His daughter, Brooke, shared the news of his retirement on X on Sunday.

Replacing Kromer will not be easy. During his second stint with Buffalo, the team had multiple players earn Pro Bowl nods along the offensive line. In addition to league accolades, Kromer also deserves plenty of credit for developing the likes of Spencer Brown, O’Cyrus Torrence, Alec Anderson, Ryan Van Demark and Tylan Grable.

Finding someone who can replicate that level of success will not be easy, but Buffalo has some options. Here are three coaches for the Bills to consider.

Austin Gund, Bills assistant OL coach

Some Bills fans have grown tired of the team promoting from within, but Gund is a legitimate option for Buffalo. Gund has worked with Kromer since 2022 and has earned the respect of the players in the locker room. Considering the success that Buffalo’s offensive line had under Kromer, it would make sense to consider his assistant for the job.

Dwayne Ledford, Atlanta Falcons OL coach

Ledford is widely considered one of the league’s best offensive line coaches. It just so happens that he is expected to be available. While many coaches likely would have retained Ledford based on the success that Atlanta has had with their offensive line play, new head coach Kevin Stefanski is reportedly bringing Bill Callahan, another top OL coach, with him to the Falcons.

In addition to serving as the Falcons’ offensive line coach, Ledford was also their run-game coordinator.

In his time in Atlanta, Ledford has been credited with helping Chris Ledstrom become an All-Pro, as well as the development of center Ryan Neuzil and guard Matthew Bergeron.

Zak Kromer, Los Angeles Rams assistant OL coach

Buffalo should also consider replacing Kromer with another Kromer. Aaron’s son, Zak, has coached in the NFL for the past 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. He is currently the team’s assistant offensive line coach.

Kromer is considered an up-and-coming coach in the league and was interviewed by the Jaguars last season for their offensive line coach vacancy.

Kromer was previously with the Bills in 2016 as an entry-level coaching assistant.
