The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued their search for a new offensive coordinator, interviewing Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken as they evaluate options to elevate the offense heading into the offseason.
Monken brings a unique blend of familiarity and evolution to the table. He previously served as Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator from 2016-2018, during which the Buccaneers fielded some of the most aggressive and productive passing offenses in franchise history. Since then, Monken has expanded his résumé considerably, most recently guiding Baltimore’s offense throughout the 2025 season.
In 2025, the Ravens’ offense was productive but experienced some inconsistency, finishing with 5,647 total yards and averaging roughly 332 yards per game while scoring just under 25 points per game. While the unit did not rank among the league’s elite in overall yardage, it remained balanced, particularly on the ground, where Baltimore ranked best in the league, averaging 156 yards per game behind juggernaut Derrick Henry. That ground success helped create favorable down-and-distance situations and allowed the offense to control tempo in many games.
Through the air, the Ravens were not a volume-based passing team, but Lamar Jackson provided efficiency and playmaking when available. The passing offense complemented the run game rather than driving it, generating timely explosive plays and capitalizing on defensive overcommitment to the run. Jackson’s dual-threat skill set remained central to the structure of the offense, stressing defenses horizontally and vertically.
Situational football was a mixed but encouraging area in 2025. Baltimore’s third-down efficiency and red-zone production were competitive, though not consistently dominant. At times, the offense struggled to sustain drives, often influenced by injuries and personnel turnover, but Monken’s scheme continued to provide answers in high-leverage moments.

Monken’s previous tenure in Tampa Bay provides additional context. From 2016-2018, the Buccaneers consistently ranked among the league leaders in passing yards, including a top-three finish in 2018. While those offenses leaned heavily on aggressive, pass-first principles, Monken’s work since then reflects a more adaptable and complete approach, blending physicality with explosiveness.
Monken is one of several candidates Tampa Bay has interviewed, but his combination of prior success with the Buccaneers, recent experience running a balanced offense, and track record of tailoring schemes to quarterback strengths make him a compelling option. A reunion with a more experienced and evolved Todd Monken could help a young, talented Tampa offense take a leap.
