A former Cowboy has a renewed chance at Super Bowl glory.
Former Dallas quarterback Ben DiNucci has signed onto the Broncos’ practice squad on Sunday, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. DiNucci confirmed the news on his social media account.
It has come to my attention that a team may be in need of my services…
Good thing my schedule is open this week.

Denver was in need of another quarterback after its starter Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury during the overtime period of its win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. Backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham will get the start for the Broncos in the AFC championship game against the Patriots. Former Texas Longhorn Sam Ehlinger is already on the Broncos’ roster and presumably will be Stidham’s backup on Sunday.

DiNucci also brings some needed familiarity with Denver, as he spent time on the Broncos’ practice squad in 2023.
Ironically, DiNucci was doing studio work on Saturday for CBS and was reacting to Nix’s devastating injury. One day later, he signed with the Broncos.
DiNucci was originally a seventh-round draft pick for the Cowboys and spent the 2020-21 seasons in Dallas. He then spent 2023 on the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons before landing on Denver’s practice squad. He also had stints on the practice squads of the Bills and Saints in 2024 and the Falcons in 2025.
His only game action outside of the preseason came in his rookie year in 2020 with the Cowboys when he appeared in three games and made one start, completing 23 of 43 passes for 219 yards.
