The Cincinnati Bengals made a wave of roster moves on the Monday after the season ended.

It was mostly routine stuff, like securing most of the practice squad on reserve/futures deals as they head into the offseason and beef up the roster limit before free agency and the draft.

The Bengals also signed a handful of players to one-year deals.

Tucked into there was a big win: Wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley.

One might think, “hey, why do we care about the Bengals getting another receiver on a depth chart stacked with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins at the top?”

Depth is critical, though, especially with Higgins in and out of the lineup over the years and the Jermaine Burton experience blowing up in their faces.

Tinsley is special, too. He’s flashed it consistently since joining the team and been heralded by a vocal part of the fanbase as looking like former fan favorite Marvin Jones when he’s out there.

It’s a little thing, but it’s a win for the Bengals. Keeping Tinsley, Andrei Iosvias and a handful of others as key depth, if nothing else, could help keep the offense productive if needed and avoid another weird Burton-like gambles.
