The Cincinnati Bengals have entered the NFL’s Global Markets Program, officially earning international marketing rights in Canada.

The Bengals announced the big news early this week, expressing excitement for the chance to expand their brand internationally as the NFL continues to grow.

Bengals Director of Strategy and Engagement Elizabeth Blackburn said the following in the statement:

“Canada has a great history and passion for football, and we are excited to join the Global Markets Program to further engage with and grow our strong Canadian fanbase. Growing the game globally is an important priority for the NFL. We are excited to be part of the Global Markets Program’s expansion to include all 32 teams and look forward to broadening the reach of Who Dey Nation in Canada.”

While some might’ve theorized the Bengals would go after notable Bengals fan hotspots such as Germany, the team sticks close to home here with the rights to Canada, joining the 31 other teams now involved in the program.

These rights award five-year terms, so the Bengals get the next half-decade to work their branding in Canada.
